AVANTI: CONDOMINIUM ENERGY EFFICIENCY RETROFIT

Avanti, a luxury condominium development completed in 2017, was built under the 2013 building code; incorporating less-efficient equipment. Its common area infrastructure was, from an energy perspective, already obsolete.

Green Econome upgraded hallways, lobbies, and parking structures with LED lighting and dimming fixtures, leading to higher efficiency and quality of life for the residents. Thermostat controls and a pool equipment retrofit led to immediate energy and cost savings averaging a 60% reduction. This project was a Los Angeles Better Buildings Challenge Innovation Awards 2021 Finalist.

MARIKA ERDELY, GREEN ECONOME

Though Avanti is a new luxury condominium development completed as recently as 2017, its common area infrastructure was, from an energy perspective, already obsolete. With significant experience as an HOA board member, I understood their need to control operating costs on a long-term basis, while keeping the well-being of their community top of mind.
