In August, the California Energy Commission (CEC) changed the final day to submit an energy expenditure plan to August 1, 2017.
In an email to Green EconoME, the CEC confirmed the change in the deadline and further explained the tiered funding:
From the CEC –
The Department of Education releases the yearly allocations…For schools that are tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 the funds are going to fall into their respective ranges (tier 1: $15,000, tier 2: $50,000, tier 3: $100,000). If the LEA is tier 4, one can only estimate through previous allocations. We recommend that you submit an energy expenditure plan by August 1, 2017, and if there are changes an amendment is always possible.
